Who Is Blue (Staff)
Amy Storbeck, Executive Director. Amy Storbeck has been traveling internationally since age 15 to serve people groups in underdeveloped countries. She has traveled to Russia, Uganda, India, and Mexico and experienced the common thread of human exploitation firsthand. Amy was able to put a face to the child soldiers of Uganda and the sex slaves of India. They became more than a statistic and a picture on a pamphlet, they became her friends. Since those experiences, she has been laboring in South Texas along with Blue Nation Inc. to bring awareness to the issue of Human Trafficking locally and is gaining skills as a Registered Nurse. Amy is now a wife and mother who continues to work in local Human Trafficking research along with other local professionals.
Marlene Villarreal, Operations/Marketing Director. Marlene has over twenty years of experience in the legal field as a legal assistant in a large civil defense law firm in Corpus Christi, Tx. She became aware of the issue of human trafficking through Blue Nation’s founder, Sonya Martinez. After attending a training and forum on human trafficking, Marlene was so moved by the horrendous nature of this crime that she has dedicated her life as an advocate and abolitionist in the anti-trafficking movement. Marlene is responsible for the daily operations of Blue Nation from conducting training/awareness presentations, organizing and facilitating community forums, as well as establishing a collaborative network environment.
Carolina Sizemore, Public Relations Director. Carolina became a life-long advocate for anti-trafficking when the attrocities committed against young women were first brought to her attention. As a 10-year board member and presenter for the “It’s A Girl Thing!” conference, she has committed her life to battling the issues that teen girls face on a daily basis. From speaking in schools to lobbying in Washington D.C. she can be found educating others as well as helping them realize one person can make a difference. Carolina assists with training / awareness presentations for Blue Nation as well as attending trainings throughout the year to stay on the cutting-edge of Human Trafficking issues.
